Formerly called Helleborus corsicus, this hellebore has flowers the colour of a ‘Granny Smith’ apple, on a large plant with prickly evergreen foliage. Commonly known as the holly leaved hellebore, the flowers dangle in large clusters. The flowers appear in winter and remain in good condition through to late spring. Forms a good clump over time. It grows best in moist, fertile soil. AGM. Hardiness rating H5
Care & Maintenance.
Like all hellebores they do resent being moved so plant carefully. Propagate by seed as soon as it is ripe. Tidy damaged leaves in late autumn before flowering.
