Flowers: April-June Plant in part shade. HxS 30x20cm
Trillium sessile is often seen named as Trillium cuneatum but is much harder to find. The long 10cm/4in leaves are usually prominantly marbled early in spring, although this fades as the season progresses. The sessile flowers are usually reddish-purple, but very occasionally green, and are held on long reddish stems. Best grown in a humus rich, moist soil in part shade. Organically grown in peat free compost.
Care & Maintenance.
Can be propagated by careful division during dormancy, or from seed. Plants should be tidied after dormancy and benefit from a mulch in spring. Trilliums may stay dormant for a season after planting.
