Flowers: May-June. Plant in sun. HxS80x60cm
Siberian irises are ideal for the edges of ponds, but dislike being planted as marginals. They need moist to wet soil. ‘Shirley Pope’ is a clump-forming perennial with vivid, deep violet flowers. An outstanding colour form with a basal white blotch to the falls. A worthy AGM. Hardiness rating H7.
Care & Maintenance.
Pest and disease resistant and ultra hardy, so very little attention is needed. Propagate by dividing the rhizomes in early spring, just as new leaves are peaking out. Plant the rhizome shallowly, no more than 2cm/1in below the surface.
