Flowers: May-August. Plant in part shade. HxS 45x45cm
This North American woodland species has maple shaped leaves and spikes of white flowers, lightly tinted with purple. These appear in flushes from May right throughout the summer. It makes good flowering ground cover in dry shade or under trees, but do water well until established. The flowers are lightly scented and the leaves turn a dark mahogany in autumn, often persisting through milder winters. AGM. Hardiness rating H5.
Care & Maintenance.
Tidy old leaves in early spring, or if it has been a hard winter cut right back to the ground, where you will usually see new growth appearing. It also comes true from seed.
