Flowers: May-July. Plant in part or full shade. HxS 45x45cm
This plant is an evergreen and related to our native Solomon’s Seal. It has glossy, dark green foliage and comes from the rocky mountains of Southern China. The stems emerge from a slowly spreading rhizome. Each stem has beautiful black mottling and in late spring each leaf axil is home to a small, white, waxy, bell-like flower which is lightly scented. Not invasive and a superb addition to the woodland garden. Try it with ferns or Hosta.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut back all the overwintered stems in early spring to make way for new growth. Division is fairly simple when done at the same time.
