PLEASE NOTE: RECENTLY POTTED UP. AVAILABLE TO ORDER WITH DELIVERY IN APRIL/MAY 2021
Flowers: May-September. Plant in sun/light shade. HxS 1mx60cm
This is one of the largest bellflowers. It is semi-evergreen with spreading basal rosettes of leaves. The waxy dark purple buds are large, up to 5cm/2in long, and open to huge purple blue flowers. A recent cultivar and probably a cross between native Campanula latifolia and one of the long-belled Asiatic bellflowers such as C. takesimana or C. punctata. A sterile hybrid, it flowers all summer long and excels in the mixed or cottage garden border, in a moist but well drained soil. Pot size 1.5 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut the flowering stems to ground level when they are finished and more will be provided within weeks. Tidy old foliage in spring, which is the best time to propagate by division. As it is sterile it sets no seed.
