Flowers: May-July  Plant in light shade.  HxS 2mx1.5m

Rodgersias are robust herbaceous perennials, making superb waterside plants with great architectural value.  The species name indicates glossy leaves, resembling those of a horse chestnut tree.  The panicles of flowers are creamy-white or pink, from pink buds, for several weeks in summer, but also form good seed heads later in autumn.  Needs a moist soil to grow to its full potential.  Hardiness rating H7.  Organically grown in peat free compost.

    Care & Maintenance.

Foliage collapses in late autumn and is easily removed to the compost bin.  Can be divided in early spring, use a saw on the woody rhizomes.  Seed can also be sown in spring.  Benefits from a fertiliser in spring.
