Flowers: August-October. Plant in part shade. HxS 60x60cm
This is the more unusual form of the north American ‘Turtlehead’, providing valuable late season flowers. It is shorter in habit and flowers earlier than other Chelones, preferring more shade. The light lemon-green foliage emerges early in the season and is topped with clusters of white flowers from mid-summer. Best grown in a moist soil, it makes a good waterside plant or can be grown in wet shade. Pot size 1.5 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut down old foliage in autumn or early spring, which is also the best time to divide the plants. An old blunt saw is easiest! Collect and sow seed when fresh.
