Flowers: April-June. Plant in part shade or woodland. HxS 45x45cm
This evergreen species has stunning veined, red tinged foliage in spring and bronze-red in autumn and winter. The rose-red flowers have white undersides and appear in early spring. An altogether good plant for shady borders or light woodland. Dry shade tolerant once established.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut down the overwintering foliage early in the spring, before the new flowers appear, otherwise you will have the new season’s growth coming through the old. Spring is also the best time to divide the plants. Full sun has a tendency to scorch the leaves, so avoid it when planting.
