Flowers: late March-June. Plant in part shade or woodland. HxS 30x30cm
This Epimedium is a compact plant with neat deciduous foliage which is bronzy when it emerges in the spring, becoming green as the season progresses. The bell-shaped purplish-pink flowers are held clear of the foliage in early spring and have prominent nectary spurs. It grows best in a moist soil and is acid tolerant. It can be planted as a companion to Epimedium x youngianum ‘Niveum’, which has white flowers.
Care & Maintenance.
Cut down old foliage early in the spring, before the new flowers appear. Spring is also the best time to divide the plants. Full sun has a tendency to scorch the leaves, so avoid it when planting.
