Flowers: July-September. Plant in sun or light shade. HxS 70x45cm
Pontederia cordata ‘Alba’ is a marginal aquatic perennial or bog plant forming good clumps of erect, lance-shaped or ovate, bright green leaves with dense erect spikes of small tubular white flowers in mid-summer. It has a shorter, more compact habit than the blue pickerel, interesting foliage and valuable late colour, and leaf, for pond side locations. If growing as a marginal it can be placed 20cm/8in deep, but is equally happy as a bog plant. Hardiness rating H5. Pot size 1L
Care & Maintenance.
Protect in very cold winters, (anything below -10c with us), unless growing as a marginal where it is dormant and underwater. Can be propagated easily from seed or by division in autumn or spring.
