This Louisiana iris is a great plant for bogs or as a marginal in up to 10cm/4″ of water. It will also perform well as a waterside plant. The flowers are a bright cherry red with a flash of yellow at the base of the falls. It was introduced by Frank Chowning in 1977 and won many awards in America. It is robust and reliable and a good colour break from any British natives. Available in a 1 litre aquatic pot.
Care & Maintenance.
An easy plant to grow. Tidy old foliage in spring and divide after 3-5 years to maintain vigour. Plant the rhizomes shallowly. * CAUTION. Poisonous if ingested.
