The Japanese Shield Fern has very stiff, erect, lance-shaped, bipinnate fronds which are yellow in spring, turning a glossy dark green during the season. Clump forming, evergreen and easy, with superb crosiers. A medium sized fern, tolerant of most positions in the garden, it is ultra hardy and has now become naturalised in several Cornish gardens. Organically grown in peat free compost. Hardiness rating H7. Pot size 1.5 litre.
Care & Maintenance.
Remove any damaged or old fronds in spring. This fern can be propagated by careful division or spores.
